I'm a high school senior completing an Associate in Arts at Wake Technical Community College, heading to NC State this fall to study Agricultural Business Management. I lead the National 4-H Geospatial Leadership Team and run The Map Company by Estevez, a GIS consulting business focused on market intelligence, environmental data tools, and outreach visualization for nonprofits and small businesses.
My work sits at the intersection of geospatial science, agricultural systems, and civic technology. I develop GIS curriculum for K-12 students in Wake County Public Schools, build tools that help communities visualize food access and environmental impacts, and teach youth how to use spatial data to solve real-world problems.
I'm interested in sustainable rural infrastructure, geospatial pedagogy, and using maps as instruments for community empowerment.
A food systems mapping initiative showing how food moves from farms to tables. Creates GIS apps connecting families with healthy, affordable food while teaching youth spatial analysis and leadership skills.
Strawberry variety GIS system with AI-powered plant diagnosis. Built 35-field dataset joinable to USDA Hardiness Zone polygons. Presented at Esri UC Session 1163.
Developing K-12 geospatial science curriculum for Wake County Public Schools. Building spatial pedagogy frameworks for 7th grade, 8th grade, and World History courses.
Mapped youth population density across Raleigh using GIS and AI tools to improve outreach for teen programs. Pilot project for data-driven civic engagement.
Statewide GIS project filming short interviews with legislators about how they use maps in policymaking. Leveraging relationship with Rep. Phil Rubin.
Reconstructing spatial history of post-Civil War Freedmen's Villages using archival records and historical mapping techniques.
I'm interested in working on projects at the intersection of geospatial science, agricultural systems, and civic technology — particularly those involving food systems mapping, environmental data tools, outreach visualization for nonprofits, and K-12 GIS education.
